In 1999, Shihan Fumio Demura created the Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Genbu-Kai International organization.

The name Genbu-Kai has specific meaning:

"Gen" = professional, original or beginning

"Bu" = martial art

"Kai = organization

Demura-Ha Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Genbu-Kai organization has schools teaching Shito-Ryu karate throughout the United States, and in various countries around the world. At Genbu-Kai Florida, we find ways to continue the late Shihan Demura's teaching and training legacy by introducing martial arts curriculum to the Royal Palm Beach community, with the primary goal of helping people to be better human beings and have better, more successful healthy lives.
